A couple of questions

Hi,

I have been living in London for 12 years from 2004 till end of 2015. I am a US born citizen and also have a valid Greek ID (I played for the Greek National Baseball team thus why I have the ID).

I have a few questions. I think I have been given the term Anypotaktos? I am not sure and I actually don't know where to find the answer online (I have looked everywhere but my Greek isn't the best).

I actually live in Athens for the last 15 months with my Greek wife (I will be 36 in March and my wife is pregnant and don't care to serve), but of course only friends and family are aware of this. Because I work freelance I haven't needed to worry about the army (even though I have gotten a paper from a psychologist (from the ΨΝΑ Δρομοκαϊτειο) saying I am unfit to serve in the military to be sure if something happens I can start the procedure for a I5.

Now the main questions is: I have to travel from Athens to Singapore for work in 4-6 weeks. Can I leave the country with my Greek ID (since they never check their computers when given a Greek ID) --> Enter Singapore with my US Passport --> Leave Singapore with the US passport --> Enter Greece with the Greek ID?

I have tried the ctrl + G for the Greek translation. I hope it worked ok.

Thanks for the responses.

Hey there pal

I to am a dual nationality citizen (Greek an us citizenship)but i serve in the Greek army long time ago.As far as i can remember you have to provide evidence that you are a perminent resident abroad so you can establish the right to be relieved from serving in the Greek armed forces.
Thats for the case you wish not to get drafted at all. In some other cases you can have a deducted serving time or get the option to "buy" your service time by providing the proper "red tape" documents/evidences.
Ofcourse all this were in action back in the far 1992 were the service time was much longer then our days...so they might not be valide any more and you have to adress your matter to your nearest drafting office of your municipality.

I got a question though..were was your permanent residence before 2004....and for how long have you stayed in Greece before you finally settle in Greece with your wife?

Cheers
